July 17th is World Emoji Day. Send a unique message using an emoji!

Did you know that Emoji, or “picture word”,  was designed in 1990 by Shigetaka Kurita to make pagers more appealing to teens?

Before emoji, an emoticon was used to show emotion when you text someone using keyboard characters in a certain way to represent a facial expression. An emoji image can be anything from facial expressions to national flags. Over 1800 emojis cover much more than just emotions. Take a look at the emojipedia.org to find out emoji updates.
