Juneteenth – also known as Freedom Day, Jubilee Day, Liberation Day, and Emancipation Day is a holiday commemorating the end of slavery in the United States. It marks the federal order to free slaves in Texas on June 19, 1865. Juneteenth is celebrated on Wednesday, June 19, 2024.
