LinkedIn is moving towards eliminating the business card with their new QR code feature.

LinkedIn has added a new feature called “LinkedIn QR code” now available in the LinkedIn iOS and Android apps globally. Simply update your LinkedIn app, place cursor into the search bar and a new dropdown feature called “Scan QR code” now appears as an option. Scan the QR code in the app of your new contact and it automatically adds them to your contacts.
